Does your website do you justice?

About Me

My name is Darren Kasmir, and I build and manage websites for law firms.

I have a B.S. in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin. I studied at Columbia University and the American Film Institute and earned an MFA in cinematography. I have worked extensively in film production, screenwriting and now web design.

I've built successful websites for plaintiff's attorneys, connecting firms with solid potential clients and one multi-million dollar case--without referral fees or direct advertising costs.

My background and expertise in visual communication, narrative, and collaborative expression uniquely qualify me for this work. Through design, content writing and continual site updating and management, I can help you represent yourself on the web.

I come from a family of lawyers. I deeply respect the work of plaintiffs' attorneys, and I understand the risks you take. You're not only practicing law in service to your clients, but you're also running a business--I can help you attract more.

I'm on your team.

About you

Though an excellent website is important, the most important key to your firm's success is obviously you, your attorneys. Your firm's history, reputation, record of achievement, your approach to clients, their adversaries and the legal system, your personality--all of your attributes you would use to win a potential client's confidence, everything that distinguishes you from your competition, should come through strongly on your site.

Again, your site should represent you.

Your firm's website should not only target prospective clients searching the internet, but also, more importantly, your site should assure prospects that you are right for them. When someone with a problem gets your name from a friend or from a news article, when a member of your firm hands someone a business card, or when a juror breaks a rule and looks you up during a trial, your website is the first place they'll go for information about you. For most, it'll be the only in-depth view they get.

The competition

Generic content from a megalithic web services company that represents thousands of lawyers won't suffice. A pre-built template and limited layout will not adequately sell you. A cut-rate, cookie cutter approach won't differentiate you from your competition.

Boilerplate content and design won't hold anyone's attention and won't convince anyone you're anything special.

You need a site that is beyond passably functional. You need content that is not interchangeable with the firm's across the street...

You should work closely with a web designer/writer and site manager who'll take the time to get to know you and your practice. You need someone to make your site as singular as your firm and to keep up the care and feeding to make it current, relevant and effective...

I can be your partner online.

Your site

A successful website shouldn’t be stagnant. Content should change, designs should evolve--not only to help potential clients find you and help you find new clients, but also as part of the overall SEO (search engine optimization) strategy.

But web traffic is not an end in itself. Google is not your targeted client.

Content should not only be optimized for the robots and spiders of search engines, but also written for human connection. A potential client has to be convinced that they can trust you with their problems, that you're well qualified, and that you'll fight for them.

There are legitimate SEO strategies to follow. There are methods of promotion to apply both on your site and off. But the most reliable best practice for SEO is relevant written content, updated often.

If you can invest the time to work with me, I can promise to be a dedicated partner, striving to maximize the marketing potential of the internet to provide you with the online presence that best attracts clients and represents your firm.
